Artist statement

Through his music and songwriting, Ilya aims to push the boundaries of acoustic guitar by blending raw intensity with atmospheric depth. By using alternate tunings, he thus unlocks and discovers new landscapes. Each tuning possesses its own distinct personality that guides his playing, and running the guitar through effect pedals transforms the acoustic sound into something heavier and more expansive. Ilya layers riffs and licks with a gritty, yet ambient edge, allowing for both intricate passages and bold, driving rhythms.
